Air Fryer Pizza bombs from Scratch with step wise pictorial and video method.

An interesting twist to regular pizza by making it in balls shape having all the pizza stuffing inside.

Looks like ladi pav or dinner rolls, these balls have everything inside what you can see on your pizza base.

Right from pizza sauce to mozzarella to seasoning to other stuff, everything is incorporated inside a ball made with pizza dough.

Earlier also, we have posted a pizza bombs recipe but that recipe is altogether different. That wasn’t made with perfect pizza dough and prepared in apple pan. You can call that a cheat recipe of pizza bombs. If interested, you can look upon that recipe by clicking here.

Pizza bombs are the perfect recipe to serve to the guests and it will definitely be loved by them, especially kids.

You can also pack them in the tiffin box and kids are definitely going to enjoy with their mates.

INGREDIENTS USED IN MAKING PIZZA BALLS

FLOUR : To keep them healthy, we have used whole wheat flour. Alternatively, you can use all purpose flour as well.

SUGAR : sugar helps in activating yeast. No need to ask that only brown sugar works. You can use white sugar, honey, jaggery powder or maple syrup as well.

YEAST : Active or Instant, go for any yeast you have in hand. Yes, active yeast needs prior activation whereas Instant yeast is added directly to the flour without any activation.

STUFFING STUFF: We have used that very regular stuffing for pizza bombs which we generally do for our pizza. Pizza sauce, mozzarella, bell pepper, onion and seasoning are something we love to have on our pizza, so in pizza bombs. But you are bound to carry on with the same stuffing. Go for anything you love on your pizza, be it veg, non-veg or vegan, choice is your’s.

STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF AIR FRYER PIZZA BOMBS FROM SCRATCH

 

MAKING OF DOUGH

 

1.Take a big bowl and add 1/2 cup lukewarm water, 1 tsp sugar and mix well.

2. Then add 1 tsp yeast and mix.

3. Rest for 8-10 minutes and yeast will get activated. The water in which yeast was added became frothy and bubbly, which is a sign of yeast activation.

4. Add 2 tbsp oil, 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes, 1/2 tsp mix herbs, 1/2 tsp garlic powder  and 1/4 tsp salt. Mix.

5. Add 1+1/2 cup wheat flour and mix everything using hand.

6. Now start adding water, little at a time, and knead a dough.

7. Dough must be kneaded for 10 minutes for good results.

8. Put the dough in a greased bowl or box. Put a lid on it and leave the dough for fermentation for 1:30 to 2 hours at some warm place in the kitchen.

PREPARATION OF STUFFING

9. Add 2 tbsp Onion (finely chopped), 2 tbsp capsicum (finely chopped), 2-3 tbsp sweet Corns and 3/4 cup Mozzarella (shredded) in a bowl.

10. Also add 1/4 tsp red chilli flakes, 1/4 tsp oregano and salt to taste. Mix well.

PREPARATION OF PIZZA BALLS

11. After 2 hours, the dough must have been doubled in size.

12. Knead it for a minute.

13. Take a small ball and flatten it using your finger tips. You can also use rolling pin for the purpose.

14. Apply some pizza sauce in the middle of flattened dough.

15. Put some stuffing in the center.

16. Pick up the edges and bring together to seal the stuffing inside.

17. Roll it between your palms to give it a proper round shape.

18. Place all the stuffed balls in a greased Airfryer basket.

19. Brush them with milk.

20. Airfry @160°C/320°F for 10 minutes until balls attain the brown colour.

21. Bring them out and brush butter while they are hot.

Air fryer pizza balls are ready. Enjoy with the dip of your choice.

NOTES

  1. Pizza bombs can be baked in oven as well @180 degree C for 20 minutes or until attain brown top.
  2. You can use the stuffing of your choice.
