Really, where a routine bread recipe calls for lots of efforts, time and ofcourse yeast, this one sounds so so easy in comparison.

We recently came across this recipe on social media and after seeing it’s simplicity and ease, we couldn’t resist ourselves from trying this recipe.

And to our utter surprise, this really came out so good.

Although this is a harsh fact that you shouldn’t expect 100% results similar to store bought bread, but still we would say, it was worth 7.5 out of 10.

In place of all purpose flour, this recipe is made with Suji. Suji/Semolina or Rava is a coarse flour made of durum wheat. It is commonly used in middle east & indian cuisines.

In this recipe, we have used suji without yeast for the making of bread. Suji bread is an excellent alternative for the individuals who want to make bread quickly & also without using yeast.

This recipe is a very straightforward one. Bread is a worldwide famous & very extensively used product for breakfasts & snacks. It is a staple food for around many centuries & decades.

Bread comes in many forms from loaves and rolls to flatbreads and tortillas, and can vary widely in texture, flavor and ingredients depending on regional and cultural practices.

Suji Bread is an easy to make recipe. It requires very minimal ingredients & preparation. It can be enjoyed by everyone & also by the people who are yeast sensitive.

The authenticity & beauty of this recipe lies in it’s simplicity & well making. This recipe is also a no-knead recipe which makes it a great addition to the pros of the recipe. Kneading can be very tasking as well as energy taking. Here, the ingredients are mixed into a batter rather than a dough. This results in a hassle free solution of making the bread.

This can also be a very healthy form of bread because there is no all purpose flour (widely known as maida) used in this recipe.

This instant bread gets fermented in seconds due to the use of baking soda & ENO as it’s ingredients.

Traditional Bread Baking requires atleast 8-10 hours of procedure. The dough first needs to be kneaded, then put on rest, then baked, cooled and to be cut, which almost takes several hours.

But in this recipe, we have made this bread in hardly 2-3 hours, where batter takes minimum 10 minutes and 50 minutes to bake.

It is a comparably easier & time saving recipe one must try. Moreover, this style of bread is really versatile & moderate. It’s mild flavour pairs well with different kinds of spreads and provide a mouthwatering flavour to taste-buds.

STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE FOR INSTANT SUJI BREAD WITHOUT YEAST:

 

Add suji in a grinder jar.

Grind to a powder, as fine as you can.

Add curd.

Give one more blitz.

Suji & curd will get mixed.

Add milk, oil, sugar and salt in the blender.

Rest 10 minutes.

In the meantime, put the oven for preheating @170°C for 10 minutes.

Coming back to ingredients, grind them again to make a smooth batter.

Transfer the batter in a bowl.

Add baking powder and ENO but make sure before adding these two ingredients, oven should compulsorily be preheated because you can’t keep the batter out after adding them.

Give it a good mix.

Transfer the batter in a greased loaf pan.

Immediately put the pan in the middle rack of the oven with both the rods on @170°C for 50 minutes.

When done, take the pan out and check by inserting a toothpick. If it comes out clean, its a sign that bread is properly baked.

Invert the bread out of loaf pan and place on a cooling rack. Apply butter over the top of the bread.

Cover the bread in a damp cloth for 30 minutes. Remove the cloth and let bread cool down completely.

Cut into slices

NOTES:

 

  • Make sure the curd and milk should be on room temperature.
  • Instead of whole 1/2 cup of milk, you can add 1/4 milk and 1/4 cup water.
  • Oven should compulsorily be preheated  before adding baking powder and ENO.
  • Take the bread out of loaf pan immediately after it is out of oven. Otherwise the heat will make the bread soggy.
  • Do apply the butter over the top of bread for a shiny glaze.
  • Covering the bread with damp cloth will help in making the bread soft.
