Hidden heart cake recipe (vegan) with step wise pictorial and video method.
With the arrival of Valentine’s Day, if you are looking for some recipes which can depict your love for your soulmate, then here it is.
Heart inside a cake is something very romantic, a true Symbol of love.
This cake is called hidden heart because when you look at the entire cake, it seems to be very regular and a basic bread kind of cake, but once you slice it, a beautiful red blooming heart appears.
As far as the flavour of cake is concerned, it is simple vanilla sponge cake. However you can make any cake of your choice but make sure the colour of both the cakes should be totally different and in contrast to one another. you Only then the heart will clearly seen.
To make the red coloured cake, we have used Red Food Colour but in place of red food colour, you can make a cake of raspberry or strawberry to give an heartily effect.
Furthermore, white cake easily be turned into some delicious chocolate, lemon, caramel or orange cake.
In nutsell, you need to combine two cakes into one but with totally two different contrasts.
STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF HIDDEN HEART CAKE (VEGAN)
MAKING OF RED CAKE
1. Take a bowl and add milk and vinegar in it. Let rest for 10 minutes.
2. Add sugar and oil.
3. Whisk together well.
4. Put a sieve on the bowl.
5. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
6. Sift the ingredients into the bowl.
7. Add vanilla essence and red food colour.
8. Mix together using cut and fold method.
9. Pour the batter into 6 inches cake tin greased with oil.
10. Bake @180°C for 30 minutes in the middle rack of oven with both the rods on.
11. When cake cools down completely, split it into two halves.
12. Cut out the hearts using heart shaped cookie cutter.
13. Keep the hearts aside.
MAKING OF WHITE CAKE
14. Take milk and vinegar in a bowl and rest for 10 minutes.
15. Add oil and sugar and whisk together well.
16. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
17. Pour in vanilla essence and mix.
18. Take a baking tin lined with greased butter paper.
19. Pour 3-4 tbsp of white batter and spread it at the base.
20. Arrange hearts, preferably, with pointed side downwards in a way as shown in the picture.
21. Pour rest of the white batter over the hearts.
22. Bake for 40-45 minutes in pre-heated oven @180°C in the middle rack with both the rods on.
23. Check by inserting a toothpick and if the toothpick comes out clean, means cake is properly baked.
24. Let the cake cool down completely.
Cut into slices and enjoy.

Ingredients
1 cup = 250 ml
FOR RED HEARTS
- 3/4 cup All purpose flour (130 gram)
- 1 tsp corn flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup sugar (66 gram)
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/2 cup milk of your choice (we used plant milk)
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp Red food colour
FOR WHITE CAKE
- 1.5 cup All purpose flour (260 gram)
- 2 tsp corn flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup sugar (66 gram)
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 cup milk of your choice (we used plant milk)
- 6 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp vinegar
Instructions
