Aloo Suji Fingers recipe with step wise pictorial and video method.

Made with semolina, potatoes and few spices, these suji potato fingers are so crunchy and delicious and above all, made with just few drops of oil in Air Fryer.

They are the perfect tea time snacks or party appetizers and called as fingers due to their resemblance with fingers.

Not just the kids, but this delicious snack can be enjoyed by adults and adolescents as well.

The common practice is to deep fry them but now a days people have become more health conscious and thereby have started reducing the consumption of oil.

Similar is the case at our home and we usually prefer to air fry the dishes, which are otherwise be prepared by deep frying, be it samosa, spring rollsPaneer 65 or Bread rolls.

CAN I STORE RAVA FINGERS?

 

If you have plans to serve it as a party snack, then you can prepare and shape them before time and fry it immediately before serving, otherwise they may turn soggy, especially during rainy season.

However if you want to make them much earlier or wish to keep them available for anytime immediate snack, then store them before frying in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days in the freezer.

You only need to coat the fingers in all-purpose flour and place it in a container and keep it in your freezer. Take out an hour before frying. For immediate defrosting, you can also microwave them.

 

SERVING IDEAS

 

You can serve with green chutney or tomato ketchup.

It can be served as a replacement to french fries with burger or anything having french fries as a side dish.

This is indeed a good idea for the kids school lunch boxes.

 

 

STEP WISE PICTORIAL METHOD OF ALOO SUJI FINGERS RECIPE

 

  1. Mix semolina, oil and water very well and rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Mash potatoes and add soaked semolina, red chilli flakes, black pepper powder, garam masala and coriander leaves.
  3. Mix them so well and form a dough. You can apply oil on your hand if dough is sticky.
  4. Now grease both the hands and start making fingers of desired size by rolling a small portion of dough between your palms.
  5. Arrange all the fingers in a greased plate and place the plate in refrigerator for 30 minutes or in freezer for 15 minutes until fingers turn firm.
  6. Arrange them in a air fryer basket and brush some oil.
  7. Air fry @180°C for 20-25 minutes or until fingers turn golden and crisp. Alternatively you can deep fry or bake them as well.

Suji potato fingers are ready. Enjoy.

Ingredients
  

1 cup = 200 ml

  • 1/2 cup suji/semolina (90 gram)
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 4-5 potatoes (boiled and peeled)
  • 1 tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves
  • Oil for greasing hands (tray & air fryer basket)
