This Corn and cheese sandwich recipe on tawa and microwave made with corns, onion, bell pepper, mayonnaise and cheese made an ultimate combo having an heavenly taste like never before.

Plumper and tender corns, crunch of onion, grassy flavour of bell pepper, sourness of mayonnaise and creaminess of melted cheese sandwiched between the bread slices is like soulmates completing each other.

We were never a fan of sandwich till the time we ate it. The first bite of this cheesy sandwich and we were like OMG. What is it? It was unbelievable that such a delicious thing ever existed. Lol.

This is such a filling recipe that if you get to eat 2 sandwiches, you will feel as if you have taken your lunch/dinner to the full tummy.

Further, if it’s be kids tiffin or planning for a small in-house party, this is the perfect treat to be served which gets ready in jiffy with minimal ingredients.

Though we have mentioned the quantity of ingredients, but this is one such useful Cheese corn capsicum sandwich recipe, wherein you really don’t need any measuring tools and it can be made even without any calculations.

You can have this sandwich with a cup of hot tea or coffee as a breakfast or evening snack. Even pairing it with soft drink makes a great brunch.

We have made it on tawa as well as in microwave, but if you posses a griller, then instead of tawa,you can make grilled cheese corn sandwich recipe. Griller will make a beautiful pattern over the bread which makes the sandwich more appealing.

INGREDIENTS USED

This Sweet corn cheese sandwich recipe is made using few simple and easily available ingredients at home that too within 15 minutes. Making it home is highly economical otherwise cheese corn sandwich price in the market is very high and costs too much, especially when you are buying it in bulk. So lets have a vision over the ingredients :

BREAD : There’s no bar to use which type of bread. You may use whole wheat bread, maida bread, semolina bread or multi-grain bread.

CORNS :  We removed some corns from the cob, boiled them until soft & tender and then used in this recipe.

However you can use American sweet corns/forzen corns or any variety of sweet corn kernels in the recipe.

MAYONNAISE : We have used basic mayonnaise having no added flavouring. But you can use any mayonnaise depending on your personal choice and taste.

ONION : This recipe has red onions cut very thinly.

BELL PEPPER : Green capsicum is used after chopping very finely. You may use bell peppers of any colour (red or yellow or all). However, you can skip bell pepper and add thinly sliced tomatoes. Choice is yours.

CHEESE : we have used grated mozzarella cheese in the recipe. You can even use gouda or cheddar cheese. Even if you don’t have cheese at home, still you can make corn sandwich recipe without cheese.

BUTTER : Small amount of butter to roast the bread.

KETCHUP : This too is used in a small quantity to bring the actual punch of sandwich.

PREPARATION OF FILLING

 

1.Take a bowl and add mayonnaise.

2. Then add bell pepper/capsicum, onion and corns.

3. Lastly add black pepper powder, salt and mix well. Be careful while adding salt because mayonnaise already have salt in them. Keep aside.Cheese corn sandwich recipe

PREPARATION OF SANDWICH

4. Take 2 slices of bread and on one bread, spread the butter but only on one side.

5. Likewise apply tomato ketchup on one side of the other bread.

6. Spread about a tablespoon of mayonnaise – corn filling on one bread. It doesn’t matter you are spreading the filling on butter applied slice or the one with tomato ketchup. In our case, it is butter spreaded bread.

7. Put some shredded mozzarella on the filling.

8. Now cover it with the other slice of bread on which ketchup was applied, keeping the ketchup side towards the filling.

MAKING OF SANDWICH ON TAWA

9. Apply some butter on hot tawa/griddle.

10. Place the sandwich on the tawa over butter.

11. Apply butter on the top side of the bread too.

12. Once the bread is slightly toasted from the bottom, carefully flip it using spatula.

13. Once the bread is properly roasted and turns brown and crispy from both the sides, take it off the tawa and its ready.

MAKING OF SANDWICH IN MICROWAVE OVEN

1. Place the toast on tall rack of microwave and apply butter on upper side of bread.


2. Place rack in microwave, press the grill mode and grill for 2-3 minutes or until top of the bread turns crispy brown.


3. Take the rack out of microwave, turn the side of toast and apply butter on top side, which was earlier downwards.


4. Put back in microwave and grill for 2-3 minutes or until the upper side turns brown crisp.

6. Bread turns crisp and brown from both the sides.

7. Cut it diagonally or anyways.

FOR FILLING

  • 1/4 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Onion very finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper very finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup corns boiled

  • 5-6 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tsp Tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mozzarella cheese

  • Once the bread is properly roasted and turns brown and crispy from both the sides, take it off the tawa.
