Oats vegetable cutlets are a Vegan and Gluten-free culinary masterpiece, blending the goodness of oats with a medley of vibrant vegetables.

Each bite of these cutlets have all the flavours which are enough to indulge you with themselves by enhancing your cravings.

Generally cutlets are prepared by deep frying which makes them unhealthy inspite of whatever healthy ingredients you are adding to it right from kind of flour to Vegetables or anything.

But these are made in air fryer having just 2 tbsp of oil in entire batch of cutlets, so even the weight cautious people can also enjoy.

Further, the another thing you can do with cutlets is to dip in rice flour or maida slurry, then coat in breadcrumbs and finally air fry. However we skipped this step.

INGREDIENTS USED IN MAKING OATS VEGETABLES CUTLETS IN AIR FRYER

 

OATS : To make this recipe, we have used rolled oats after grinding them to powder. Some people do roast the oats before grinding but we didn’t feel any such need. After all when cullets are going to be (air) fried, they will get roasted.

Although we haven’t personally used, but probably steel cut oats can also be used to make this recipe. If you try, do share your feedback.

VEGETABLES: We were having some seasonal vegetables like purple cabbage, carrot, peas, capsicum and beetroot already lying in the refrigerator. You are not bound to use these particular veggies only but anything you have got conveniently.

RICE FLOUR : A bit of Rice flour is usually added to tikkis, cutlets and pakodas because it adds crunch to the recipe. Not just crispiness, but it also helpful in binding the dough and absorbing the extra moisture.

In place of rice flour, you can add semolina for the purpose of crispiness and corn flour or all purpose flour for binding.

OTHER INGREDIENTS & SPICES: onion, green chilies, coriander leaves, ginger garlic paste, cumin seeds, garam masala, coriander powder, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, chaat masala, salt and oil are something which completes the cutlets.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

These cutlets can be eaten as it is with tomato ketchup, mayonnaise or any dip of your choice.

You can use them as patties for a burger or bread as well.

STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF OATS VEGETABLES CUTLETS IN AIR FRYER

 

Take a bowl and add all the ingredients. The quantity and name of all the ingredients is given in the recipe card below. Give them a good mix.

Now make the cutlets with the greased hands.

Arrange them in the air fryer basket. Put as many as your basket can accommodate in one go. Apply some oil on the cutlets. In case you don’t have an air fryer, these cutlets can be deep fried or bake @190°C for 20-25 minutes. 

Air fry for 15 minutes @180°C. You must flip them in the mid time.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup powdered oats
  • 2 cup finely chopped vegetables of your choice (we used purple cabbage, carrot, peas, capsicum and beetroot)
  • 1 big onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 green chilies (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • Red chilli powder to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp chaat masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp rice flour

Instructions
 

  • Take a bowl and add all the ingredients.
  • Give them a good mix.
  • Now make the cutlets with the greased hands.
