Atta gud laddu | wheat flour jaggery ladoo | atta aur gud ke ladoo are treated as super food during winters. It keeps the body warm & they are healthy too having all nutrients of wheat & jaggery.
Different people make it different way by adding edible gum, poppy seeds and many more ingredients but the present method is the simplest of all. You require just 3 basic ingredients i.e. wheat flour, Jaggery & ghee.
It is to be noted that the ghee is used in a very less quantity so the people who aren’t much fond of ghee or usually avoid food having too much ghee must be happier with the recipe.
The use of nuts here is purely optional & you can avoid them. Also instead of crushing the green cardamoms, you can add cardamom powder also, if you have.
These laddus are so yum that your kids are not going to stop at one. Make it a part of their tiffin or serve it your guests or carry them if you are travelling because they don’t need refrigerator.
How to store atta gud laddu?
These Ladoos are to be stored in air tight container & can be cherished for about a month.

Step wise pictorial recipe of atta gud laddu
- In a pan, add whole wheat flour & dry roast on low till it attains light brown colour. It will take 8 to 10 minutes.
- Take the roasted flour, shift in some bowl & add roasted nuts of your choice. We added almonds and cashews. However it is optional.
- In the same pan, add jaggery and water.Let the jaggery melt on high flame.
- When the jaggery melts completely, lower the flame and let it boil till it turns little thick. It will be taking 5 minutes almost.
- Switch off the flame and add crushed cardamoms in melted jaggery. Let the jaggery cool very slightly.
- Add melted jaggery gradually in wheat flour & also add desi ghee.
- Mix the melted jaggery in flour properly.
- Take a small portion of mixture & roll between your palms to give it a round balls. Make sure the mixture shouldn’t turn completely cool otherwise you will not be able to bind mixture into laddus.
- Your atta gud laddu are ready.
NOTES
- You can use sugar instead of jaggery.
- If the mixture turns completely cool & you are unable to bind it, reheat the mixture slightly.

- 1.5 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup Jaggery
- 1/2 cup water
- 3-4 green cardamoms
- 1 tbsp desi ghee
- 1 tbsp ghee roasted nuts of your choice optional
