Eggless roohafza cake recipe | rose flavoured sponge cake | how to make eggless cake with ruhafza syrup is a simple yet delicious cake flavour which can be made with simple ingredients commonly available in the kitchen.
Roohafza syrup needs no introduction and this is one of the most loved summer drink. This deep red and fragrant syrup is so versatile that wheresoever you add it, it’s gonna make your dish so delectable either it is falooda, pudding, kulfi, phirni, kheer, lassi or milk shakes.
How it could refuse to relinquish it’s goodness to this cake and yes, it made this cake which was more than awesome not just in terms of taste but texture of the cake too was just mind boggling.
This cake is such a delicious that once you cherish it, you are gonna keep roohafza at home during winters too, which otherwise, is not used during cold whether.

Step wise pictorial recipe of Eggless roohafza cake recipe
- Take a bowl, add curd, sugar and oil.
- Whisk it to mix everything well. Not necessary that sugar should be dissolved.
- Place a sieve over the bowl and add all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda & pinch of salt in it.
- Sieve them in a bowl and then add roohafza, rose essence, milk, red food colour and rose petals.
- Mix it and make sure it should be lump free. But don’t overdo in mixing.
- Transfer it to the greased cake tin lined with butter paper and tap it so that air releases if any.
- Bake in a preheated oven @ 180 degree for 40 – 45 minutes.Then check it by inserting tooth pick , if it comes out clean your cake is properly baked
- Let it turn cool completely and then invert. Roohafza cake is ready.
Enjoy it after drizzling some roohafza syrup over it if you like.

Eggless roohafza cake recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cup all purpose flour / maida
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup curd at room temp.
- 1/2 cup oil plus few more for greasing
- 1/4 cup roohafza syrup
- 5 tbsp milk at room temp.
- 1 tsp rose essence or rose water
- Few drops of red food colour optional
- 2 tbsp dry rose petals optional
Instructions
- Take a bowl, add curd, sugar and oil.
- Whisk it to mix everything well. Not necessary that sugar should be dissolved.
- Place a seive over the bowl and add all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda & pinch of salt in it.
- Seive them in a bowl and then add rooh afza, rose essence, milk, red food colour and rose petals.
- Mix it and make sure it should be lump free. But don't overdo in mixing.
- Transfer it to the greased cake tin lined with butter paper and tap it so that air releases if any.
