This sweet needs just a tablespoon of desi ghee, no cooking at all and just 15 minutes in total. What else needed to create a mouthwatering dessert coming Diwali.
This Quick and Nutritious Roasted Chana Barfi Recipe is for All Occasions and is very recently introduced on internet and received lot of appreciation and acceptance.
We too couldn’t resist trying this and really, the taste was “OMG” .
Healthy Roasted Chana Barfi making is such an easy task that even a young child can also do. You need not to even touch the gas stove and only under 15-20 minutes, you can take the bite of this delicious sweet.
Coming to the prime ingredient, this barfi is made using roasted chickpeas. Its a very popular snack in India called by the name “bhune huye chane” and is made out of white chickpeas.
These Chane are such a lovable snack which is eaten as it is but we never thought that they can turn into an amazing sweet.
When you will eat this sweet, you are going to feel as if you are eating besan barfi.
Moving on to other ingredients, let’s talk about sweetener. We have added sugar in it but in place of sugar, you can add bura, khand of jaggery. Bura and khand comes in powdered form so they don’t need grinding and will add grainy texture to barfi.
Milk powder enhances the flavor, helps achieving a soft, dense or chewy texture, making the barfi creamier and more indulgent. Not necessarily 1/2 cup but you can add less or more milk powder.
It need not to be mentioned that what Cashews and almonds do to the sweets. They definitely make the sweet more rich more flavourful.
Coconut has a unique flavour which makes this dish magistic. In place of fresh one, you can add the dry one also.
Desi ghee is part and parcel of Indian sweets and it goes in bulk. Undoubtedly desi ghee enriches the sweets but at the same time adds too much calories, which usually people ovoid.
But this Jaggery-Sweetened Roasted Gram Barfi calls for just a tablespoon of desi ghee but that doesn’t mean there’s a compromise on taste. The taste of this recipe is still over the top.
Milk is doing the job of providing much requisite moisture to it. But you need to be extra careful doing this. To bring the chane powder, add milk very slowly so that powder can turn into hard dough.
If you will accidentally add more milk, barfi will not be able to take a shape. And to adjust that, you will have to add more chane powder, hence more sugar and this way, while ratio will go disturbed.
This No-Refined-Sugar Barfi with Roasted Gram Flour is not just easy and quick but economical as well. Just by spending 150 rupees, we managed to get 650 grams of barfi.
This Traditional Roasted Chana Barfi can be stored for a week in refrigerator.
