Instant Palak Idli Recipe | Instant Spinach Idli recipe with step wise pictorial and video method.

Idli is something which needs no introduction as it is a world famous breakfast staple from south India.

It is such a dish which is being loved all over for its simplicity and health benefits.

Making idli in a traditional method is a long time method which requires soaking of dal and rice and then requires long fermentation. But with the recipe in hand, you get to enjoy idli instantly with no compromise to the taste & texture.

And with the fresh spinach in the market, we couldn’t resist ourselves from including them into the idli as well.

Inclusion of spinach in idli will not only make the idlis look beautiful, but also make them highly nutritious, combining taste and health in one wholesome dish.

The vibrant green hue of the idlis adds a touch of elegance to your plate, making them as visually appealing as they are delicious.

This recipe is also a great way to include iron rich spinach in the diet of your fussy eaters kids and that too without knowing them.

With just a handful of ingredients and no need to plan ahead for fermentation, this recipe is a game changer for all those busy mornings or at times even last minute cravings.

Perfect for those who love quick and healthy meals, this recipe is a testament to how traditional dishes can be reinvented for modern lifestyles without compromising on flavor or nutrition.

Whether you’re serving them for breakfast, a light lunch or even as a snack, these palak idlis pair beautifully with a steaming bowl of sambar & coconut chutney. However at times it is not convenient to have sambar so just coconut chutney or tomato chutney is enough to enjoy these idlis.

STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF INSTANT PALAK IDLI RECIPE :

Add spinach (washed), curd, ginger and green chilies in a grinder jar.

Grind to a fine puree.

Take semolina in a bowl. Add the spinach puree, salt and water. Mix well.

In a small tempering pan, add oil. When oil turns hot, add mustard seeds, urad dal and chana dal. Let them turn brown.

Add cashews and brown them. Add curry leaves and let them turn crisp.

Immediately transfer to the batter. Give it a good mix and rest for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, check for the consistency. If the batter is too thick, add little water. We needed to add 2 tbsp of water.

Just before steaming, add baking soda and mix vigorously.

Pour the batter in greased idli moulds, filling them about 3/4 full.

Steam for 15 minutes. You can check the doneness by inserting a toothpick and if it comes out clean, its a sign idli is cooked properly.

Take the moulds out from the steamer after 15 minutes and let them cool a bit, hardly 2-3 minutes. Remove the idlis from moulds using back side of the spoon or knife.

Enjoy with sambar and coconut chutney or with only chutney.
