Mayonnaise pasta is such a quick and tricky twist to traditional white sauce pasta without using milk and flour but still looks and tastes authentic and delicious.
When it comes to making white sauce pasta at home, the second ingredient strikes to the mind is milk. Pasta still holds the first. Lol.
Milk and flour is must to make white sauce for the pasta but that position has been captured by Mayonnaise in this post. And believe us, pasta made in mayonnaise is much more delicious than the pasta sauce made otherwise.
Made with the vegetables, primarily bell pepper, onion and corns and seasoned with herbs, this pasta is rich, smooth, and flavorful, perfect for an easy, satisfying meal.
This recipe is quick at the same time because there’s no milk to boil and thicken. Just add mayonnaise, mix and you are done. And quick doesn’t mean by compromising with the taste and texture.
This pasta has everything what a white sauce pasta supposed to be : smooth texture, glossy coating, garlic aroma and colorful veggies.
So wear your apron and join us in breaking the traditional rule and rewrite white sauce pasta with Mayonnaise.
STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF CREAMY MAYONNAISE PASTA WITHOUT MILK
BOILING OF PASTA
Take water, oil and salt in a pan. When water begins to boil, add pasta. Boil till it turns soft enough to eat.
Drain the pasta but don’t discard the water. We will use a part of it. Run cold water through the pasta so that the cooking process stops.
Transfer and spread boiled pasta in a greased plate. This will help the pasta not to stick to each other. Keep aside.
COOKING PASTA
Take oil and butter in a pan and let butter melt. Add garlic and saute for a minute. Don’t let it turn brown.
Add onion cubes, bell pepper cubes, sweet corns, black pepper powder, Oregano, red chilli flakes and salt. Be careful while adding salt because mayonnaise too has salt. Saute the veggies for a minute or two on high heat. Don’t let the crunch of veggies go.
Add mayonnaise, water (preserved one) and processed cheese cubes.
Cook till cheese melts. Add boiled pasta.
Mix well and it’s ready. Enjoy hot.
