This easy to go layered dessert is enough to bring smiles to children who are going to grab this mouth watering dessert in no time, after all jam is all kids friend.
However you can make it a part of menu if some special guests are on arrival. You are definitely going to get so many wows in exchange.
INGREDIENTS USED
FLOUR : When it comes to baking, we always prefer to use wheat flour in place of refined flour. But you may feel free to use refined flour as well.
BUTTER : As we are making this recipe vegan, so we have used vegan butter. But if you are not vegan, then you can use any butter of your choice.
If the butter is too hard, you can leave it to the counter for some time so that it turns semi soft.
Alternatively you can microwave butter for 30 seconds.
Also you can take the liberty to use salted butter but in that case, do not add extra additional butter.
SUGAR : In place of cane sugar, you may add regular refined sugar or even jaggery power or brown sugar.
As we are making a layer of jam in these bars so too much sugar is not called by this recipe.
JAM : that’s your personal choice which jam you would like to have.
Raspberry, cherry, blackberry, strawberry, apple & so on, you can use any jam or preserve to make these bars.
Instead of any specific fruit, we preferred to go for mix fruit jam.
BAKING POWDER & BAKING SODA are the leaving agents which help in making the bars rise.
SALT : A pinch of salt enhances the sweetness. But you must skip it if butter is salted one.
NUTS : Nuts make the dessert more rich, more exciting. We have used Almond slivers. However you can completely skip nuts if do not have liking for the same.
