Potato Wedges in Air Fryer with step wise pictorial and video method.
Slices of large and unpeeled potatoes cut into wedges, then seasoned with variety of spices and lastly baked or deep fried makes a tongue tickling snack or appetizer usually served in restaurants and parties.
This crisp on the outside and soft inside vegan and gluten free snack is usually served with tomato ketchup or green chilli sauce or any dip of your choice
It is such a delicious that you can’t stop at one and immediately after the first batch was finished, we rushed for the second batch…lol.
There are three ways to make this snack and that is fried, baked and air fried.
As per our personal experience, air fried and deep fried gave the best results. However we preferred only the air fried version because that gave the healthier wedges in comparison to the deep fried one.
It’s not that baked one doesn’t give good results but that is much more time taking than the air fried or deep fried one.
If talking about the seasoning, there are so many different spices which you can use to season potato wedges.
We have only used red chilli powder, black pepper powder, red chilli flakes, oregano, mix herbs & salt.
In addition or in substitution to that you can also add chaat masala, dry mango powder, roasted cumin powder, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, kasuri methi, dry mint, thyme, basil, rosemary, parsley and whatever you feel appropriate to season your appetizer.
You can even top them with shredded Parmesan once they are ready to eat.
STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF POTATO WEDGES IN AIR FRYER
1. Wash 2 potatoes (with skin) very well and cut them into wedges.
2. Put them in the ice cold water for 30 minutes.
3. After 30 minutes, pat dry the potato wedges with kitchen towel or paper napkin.
4. Put the wedges in a bowl.
5. Add 1 tbsp Olive oil, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp black pepper powder, 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes, 1/2 tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp mix herbs, 1 tbsp rice flour and salt to taste.
6. Give a good mix.
7. Brush Air fryer basket with oil.
8. Arrange the wedges in the basket. As the wedges are in large quantity, so it will be made in 2 batches.
9. Preheat the Airfryer for 5 minutes @200°C and thereafter put the basket in the Air fryer and air fry the wedges for 10 minutes @180°C and thereafter for further 10 minutes @200°C. You can enhance the air frying time if need more crispy wedges.
Potato wedges are ready. Enjoy with the dip of your choice.
NOTES
1. For baking, you can put them in oven @200°C for 30-35 minutes or until they are crisp and golden.
2. For frying, put them in hot oil and fry from medium to high flame.

Ingredients
- 2 big potatoes (500 gram)
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tbsp rice flour
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp mix herbs
- Salt to taste
- A bowl of chilled water with ice cubes
Instructions
