Instant Rabri recipe with milk powder with step wise pictorial and video method.
Rabri is a popular Indian dessert made of milk which is slow cooked until thickens and reduces. It is then sweetened with sugar and flavoured with cardamom and saffron.
The traditional method of making rabri is quite time consuming as milk has to be simmered for a long duration but we are here with an instant version of Rabri which gets ready in 12 to 15 minutes.
For making this instant version, you are not required to have multiple ingredients but just milk powder as an additional one, which not only acts as a game-changer but also provides richness and creaminess instantly, without long cooking.
And making rabri with milk powder doesn’t mean that we are compromising on taste and texture. Everything is intact, rather it’s so helpful and quick solution for busy people without compromising on flavor.
12 to 15 minutes duration for making this rabri is not just to curtail the time and efforts but it is also a saviour for last-minute guests or festive rush.
Not just for guests but it is a great idea to deal with sudden dessert cravings.
However rabri is something you can eat as it is but usually it is paired with other sweets to make a mouthwatering combo and the most common are Jalebi, Malpua, Gulab jamun, Imarti, Rasmalai and Shahi Tukda.

STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF INSTANT RABRI RECIPE WITH MILK POWDER :
In a pan add milk. Then start adding milk powder but little at a time.
Keep whisking and keep adding milk powder in 2-3 batches.
Once the milk powder is completely dissolved with the milk, put the pan on low heat. Add sugar.
Let the milk boil and keep whisking.
Also keep scraping the sides of the pan whenever the malai is stuck there.
Milk will reduce and turn thick in 12-15 minutes of boiling.
Add cardamom powder and mix well.
Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool down completely.
Instant Rabri is ready. Serve chilled after garnishing with nuts of your choice. We have used almonds, pistachios and dry rose petals.
NOTES :
- You can add a pinch of saffron if you want,.

Ingredients
1 cup = 250 ml
- 1 +1/2 cup Milk (full fat)
- 3/4 cup milk powder (full fat)
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp Nuts of your choice
Instructions
- In a pan add milk.
- Then start adding milk powder but little at a time.
- Keep whisking and keep adding milk powder in 2-3 batches.
- Once the milk powder is completely dissolved with the milk, put the pan on low heat.
- Add sugar.
- Let the milk boil and keep whisking.
