Kalakand also called milk cake is an Indian sweet popular across the country.

Although making a Kalakand is a time taking process but this microwave method gives you an instant results and that too without compromising with the taste and texture.

Moist, juicy and taste excellent, this Kalakand made of milk powder and condensed milk and paneer has all that ease and even a beginner can make it without any hassle.

We had made it last year for the festival of Rakshabandhan and this year, again repeated the same for the similar occasion. And we have noted it in advance for the coming Ganesh Chaturthi.

Either it be a good news in the family or any special occasion or festival, the role the Indian sweet comes at the first place.

If you look at the list of ingredients and process of making it, you will be amazed to see the both. Have a look below:

PANEER : Paneer used in this recipe is the homemade one. However you can use the store bought paneer also.

CONDENSED MILK : Condensed milk is also homemade and if you look into the list of ingredients for homemade condensed milk, it is going to give you utter surprise that how easy, simple and quick it is to make. Here’s the recipe of homemade condensed milk.

MILK POWDER : Prefer to use the full fat milk powder instead of the skimmed one because skimmed milk powder is made using milk without cream.

ROSE OR KEWRA WATER : whatever you have amongst the two, use the one. This will add extraordinary fragrance to the Kalakand.

DESI GHEE: Desi ghee adds richness to the recipe. So do not skip it.

SALT : You must be surprised to find a salt in sweet but yes, don’t underestimate the power of salt in sweet dishes. Salt helps in enhancing the taste of any of the dessert.

CARDAMOM: Cardamom is for the flavour and fragrance.

PISTACHIOS: The role of any dry fruit cannot be underestimated in any sweet dish. So you must not skip it. Although you can use any of the dry fruit but traditionally, kalakand is only garnished with pista.
