How to store coriander leaves for a year | How to dry coriander leaves in oven | How to dry coriander leaves in air fryer with step wise pictorial and video method.
Before going into the details as how to dry coriander leaves, it is important to elaborate that why there’s a need to do the same?
There’s no debate on the topic that whether fresh coriander is better or the dried one?
This is well known to all that nothing can match the properties of fresh things, be it food or herbs. But there are certain circumstances which forces us to go for dehydrated or frozen food.
As this post is relating to coriander leaves only, so we will stick to it only.
Not everyone has the facility to grow their own coriander for various reasons, either be it climatic or space issue or whatever.
Too much heat, too much or too little water are the major reasons in which coriander refuses to grow. There no chance of growing coriander in snowy areas as well.
If you are thinking that can’t we buy the fresh coriander from the market, then answer to this question is “yes”. But the life of plucked coriander is too short and this is such a herb which is not used in huge quantity in one go.
Even we too don’t have a facility to grow our own coriander and we always buy it from the market.
After using it one or two times, the rest goes waste although that is kept in refrigerator.
Though you might come across many hacks whereby it is shown that how to store coriander leaves in fridge for long time, but that long time’s timeline is only 2 to 3 weeks but not up to an year.
So in such an eventuality, the dried coriander comes to rescue and works as magic, wherever needed.
STEP WISE PICTORIAL METHOD OF HOW TO STORE CORIANDER LEAVES FOR AN YEAR
1.Cut the roots and wash coriander very well.
2. Leave it to dry or you can pat dry them.
HOW TO DRY CORIANDER LEAVES IN AIR FRYER
3. Preheat air fryer @180°C for 2 minutes.
4. Place coriander in air fryer basket.
5. Cover the coriander with a trivet so that they don’t fly while airfrying.
6. Air fry @180°C for 3 minutes.
7. Pause the air fryer, stir the coriander, place the trivet again.
8. Air fry for further @200°C for a minute.
9. Take the coriander out and let it turn completely cool.
10. Rub the coriander so that it’s leaves will get separated from the stems.
HOW TO DRY CORIANDER LEAVES IN OVEN
1.Preheat oven@150°C for 10 minutes.
2. Arrange the washed and dry coriander in a baking tray lined with butter or parchment paper.
3. Place the tray in the oven and bake @150° for 30 minutes in the top rack with both the rods and fan on.
4. During the period of 30 minutes, stop the oven and stir the coriander 4 to 5 times at possibly equal intervals.
5. Once coriander gets dehydrated, take it out of the oven and let it turn cool completely.
6. Rub the coriander so that leaves get separated.
Store the dried coriander in an air tight container upto 1 year.
