Eggless pillow marble cake recipe | 5 minutes cake in sandwich maker | instant eggless cake in toaster is surely left you with a feeling of awe after reading couple of words associated with this recipe i.e. “5 minutes” & “sandwich maker/toaster”.
Truly, this recipe is such a boon for the cake lovers who are generally reluctant in giving hard tasks & time to baking.
Imagine, your child is a cake lover & want to carry a cake in his tiffin. Pick up any other easiest recipe of cake & think, “can you bake a fresh one in the morning”?
Answer to this is clear NO. You have to bake the cake at night.
Even if making a batter would be very easy, but none of the cake gets baked in less than 30 minutes and supposingly there’s any, you can’t demould it until turns completely cool. So you need atleast 1 hour on minimum side for making a fresh one in the morning when you are already on the toes.
But this cake can be made in jiffy. It takes 5 minutes is baking/toasting, and if you count the time beginning from preparation of batter to baking to packing it in tiffin box, all you need 15 minutes in total.

Step wise pictorial recipe of Eggless pillow marble cake recipe
- Add oil and sugar in a bowl.
- Also add milk in it. Initially we added only 1/2 cup of milk. Mix them together. Not necessary to dissolve the sugar.
- Sieve all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into the bowl through a sieve.
- Mix the mixture. Add a spoon or 2 of more milk if feels that mixture is too much thick. We need thick mixture but of running consistency. Keep this bowl aside.
- Take another bowl & add cocoa powder & 1 tsp milk in it. Mix.
- Pour half of the earlier prepared (white) batter into this bowl carrying cocoa milk mixture. Mix.
- Now you have two types of batter. One white batter and second dark batter made with cocoa powder.
- Open the lid of sandwich maker/toaster & generously grease both it’s sides (base & inner lid) with oil. Sandwich maker hasn’t switched on yet.
- Pour a small spoon of any one batter in all the 4 portions of sandwich maker. Let it be white for us.
- Over the white batter, pour a small spoon of dark batter.
- Likewise keep on pouring one after the another coloured batter on layer over layer until the portions of sandwich maker are reasonably filled. Don’t forget the extreme corners. They too need to be filled likewise.
- Once you have poured requisite quantity of batter in all the 4 portions, take a toothpick and swirl the batter to give a marble effect.
- Close the lid of sandwich maker and now switch it on. Toast for about 4 to 5 minutes.
- Open the lid of sandwich maker. If the cake is fluffed up and turned brown, switch off the sandwich maker but don’t take them out immediately. Let them turn slightly cool otherwise they will damage.
- Now run a knife on all the edges of cake. Be gentle, don’t hurt the toaster. They are generally non stick.
- Remove the cake one by one using spatula. Make the second batch likewise with rest of the batter.
Your eggless marble pillow cake is ready.
NOTES
- You can use whole wheat flour or both all purpose flour & whole wheat flour in the ratio of 50:50.
- If don’t want to give marble effect, use single batter. Either white or dark.
- Don’t preheat the sandwich maker/toaster. Switch it on only after you close the lid. The reason is because we are making marble cake for which you need to put extra task which needs extra time. If the toaster is switched on from the beginning, your cake would be half baked from bottom till the time you end up the filling & swirling. Partially baked from bottom & totally raw from head will be uneven & failed event for the cake.
- But if you are making a cake with one single batter, no harm in preheating toaster. Batter will be poured in seconds & with immediate closer of lid, cake will be baked evenly with proper distribution of heat.
- Don’t try to take the cakes out of toaster immediately. When they are hot, they can easily tear and damage. Wait for a minute or two or until they turn slightly cool and firm.
