Cookies with leftover sugar syrup with step wise pictorial and video method.
Especially when it is the season of festivals or weddings, some of the sweets are tend to enter the house and there are some which comes with a sugar syrup like Gulab jamun, Rasgulla, jalebi and many more. Usually after the sweet is finished, you are left with sugar syrup.
Many a times we have seen on social media platforms that people keep on asking how to use leftover sugar syrup and they are being suggested to make more sweets, which sounds illogical to the poster as most of them don’t want further sweets, which sounds quite obvious.
Here’s a recipe we have come up with the utilities of leftover sugar syrup without giving birth to further sweets and here it is simple whole wheat cookies.
These cookies are so easy to make with mild sweetness gathered from sugar syrup with no additional sugar.
INGREDIENTS USED IN MAKING LEFTOVER SUGAR SYRUP COOKIES
FLOUR: This recipe can be made with all purpose flour instead of whole wheat flour. But all purpose flour is lighter than the wheat flour so it may ask for lesser quantity of syrup.
SUGAR SYRUP: how much sugar syrup will need to be added depends on two things: consistency of sugar syrup and whether you are using whole wheat or plain flour. So that’s why it is repeatedly suggested to add syrup very slowly.
BUTTER : butter can also be replaced with desi ghee but don’t try to alternate it with oil. Yes, you can conveniently use coconut oil.
BAKING POWDER/SODA : These are the leavening agents which help the cookies in turning soft and crunchy.
SALT : Salt always help in enhancing the taste of sweet recipes.
