INGREDIENTS USED IN MAKING BANANA FRITTERS
BANANAS : Bananas are supposed to be there obviously because it’s a banana based recipe. To make this recipe, prefer to use overripe bananas because such Bananas give more natural sweetness and smooth batter without adding any liquid ingredient.
FLOUR : To keep this recipe healthy, we have used whole wheat flour, otherwise you can feel free to add all purpose flour as well. Also don’t go by the quantity of flour strictly because its quantity will also depend upon the fact how ripe the bananas are. Because the ripe bananas have more moisture than the normal bananas. This is the reason that whole of the flour is not added in one go.
Whole wheat flour is the main flour but bit of rice flour is also added to make the fritters crispy.
SWEETENER: Brown sugar is added to make the fritters healthy but you can also add regular granulated sugar or jaggery as well. This is to be noted that quantity of sugar will depend on the sweetness of bananas. More sweeter the bananas are, lesser the sugar needed.
BAKING SODA: It makes the fritters soft and fluffy.
CINNAMON POWDER: Cinnamon powder and bananas make a most delicious combination and that’s why this powder is part of this recipe.
VANILLA ESSENCE: you will feel the aroma of vanilla in fritters.
