Vegan Avocado Vermicelli Kheer Recipe with step wise pictorial and video method.

This Avocado Vermicelli Kheer is a unique fusion dessert combining the traditional Indian kheer with the richness of avocado, a popular Western fruit.

Avocado, which is commonly associated smoothies, salads and breakfast toasts has now been transform into a luscious dessert.

The present recipe is not only a new and unique twist to avocado only but the classic indian popular dessert kheer has also come accross a refreshing and altogether a new look.

Considered as one of the healthiest and nutritious fruits, this dish, made with Avocado is a refreshing addition to the western ingredient with a twist of Indian cooking.

The creamy texture of avocado enhances the richness of the kheer while keeping it entirely plant-based and delightful.

WHY USE RIPE AVOCADO?

For this recipe, it’s stressed upon to use a slightly ripe avocado as it lends a creamy and smooth consistency to the kheer resulting in overpowering the dish with its taste.

On the other hand, unripe avocado may result in a grainy texture.

Ripe avocado has a mild flavour which balances perfectly with the sweetness of the kheer and blends seamlessly into the coconut milk.

WHICH SWEETENERS ARE BEST TO GO WITH?

We have used regular refined sugar in this recipe but you have many substitutes for the same. Go for healthier alternatives like date syrup, maple syrup or agave nectar. These not only add sweetness but also bring unique flavors that complement the richness of avocado.

Coconut sugar can also be a fantastic choice for a caramel-like undertone.

OTHER MILK OPTIONS

This recipe uses coconut milk, which gives the kheer a luxurious and velvety texture. However, you can go for any other plant milk.

If using Almond milk, it will offer a nutty flavor. Cashew milk adds creaminess and soya milk provides a subtle sweetness.

Go for any of such milk which you love to have in your other deserts.

Each type of milk has its own character and that will be felt in the dish as well.

If you are not making the recipe vegan, can go for dairy milk as well.

VERMICELLI SUBSTITUTES

Although vermicelli is very convenient to find but in case you don’t get it, you can go for cooked rice as well.

Other options include sago pearls for a chewy texture, quinoa for a protein-packed version or millet for a nutty and wholesome twist. Each substitute creates a unique variation of this fusion dessert.

FLAVOURING

This recipe is fragrant with cardamom powder, which is part and parcel ingredient in Indian desserts, infusing them with a warm and aromatic flavor. However, as this is a fusion dessert, you can add vanilla essence for a more global appeal.

A RARE DESSERT USE OF AVOCADO

While avocado is rarely used in desserts, its inclusion in this recipe marks a new culinary experiment. Avocado’s creamy texture makes this kheer rare and special. This innovative recipe redefines the possibilities of avocado, transforming it from a breakfast or salad staple into sweet treat.
