Suji Besan cutlets also called by the name Suji Besan balls is a simple snack recipe using semolina and gram flour.

These cutlets or balls are made by deep frying but we have made this recipe in air fryer, hence you can call them oil free (almost) suji besan balls.

This is one such snack which is so quick and instant that if you have no idea what to make quickly, then here’s the dish.

Although there are many other snacks which are quick to make like bread pakoda, onion pakoda or the other one, but we find the present one bit different because for this recipe, you neither want any bread of vegetables.

Just semolina and gram flour and few spices and you are sorted.

Furthermore we have made it in air fryer which is bit time taking, but if you go for the deep fried version, then there’s nothing more quick than this.

These cutlets/balls go great with any dip of your choice like Tomato ketchup or green chilli sauce.

These can be packed in the kids tiffin, though not as a complete meal, but they will surely love it as a snack during break time.

Even when guests reach you without prior notification, you can make these suji Besan balls in no time.

Suji Besan cutlets in air Fryer

STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF SUJI BESAN CUTLETS IN AIR FRYER

 

1. Take a bowl and add 1/2 cup semolina and 1/2 cup gram flour in it.

2. Add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp Salt.

3. Add 1 cup water and whisk well to no lumps.

4. Add oil in a pan and add cumin and onion in it.

5. Let onion turn slightly soft and mushy.

6. Now add batter and cook on low heat until the batter starts leaving the sides of the pan and turn into a lump.

7. Take the lump out in a bowl and cool for 5 minutes.

8. Add coriander leaves and knead the lump into a dough.

9. Make small balls by greasing your palms.

10. Put all the balls in greased Airfryer basket and brush oil over them. Alternatively you can deep fry these balls.

11. Air fry for 15 minutes @180°C. Shake the balls in between.

Suji Besan cutlets are ready.

Ingredients
  

1 cup = 250 ml

  • 1/2 cup semolina/suji
  • 1/2 cup gram flour/besan
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tsp oil + little more for brushing
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves

Instructions
 

  • Take a bowl and add 1/2 cup semolina and 1/2 cup gram flour in it.
  • Add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp Salt.
  • Add 1 cup water and whisk well to no lumps.
