Moong Dal Biscuits | Moong dal cookies with step wise pictorial and video method.
Mouthwatering cookies made with moong dal and oats are crisp to an extent that even your neighbours can hear that crackling sound…lol.
These cookies are:

So if a recipe has so much of positivity in terms of wellness, why to skip it at all if you are fond of homemade cookies full of health.
Although this recipe requires little time in making in comparison to other cookies recipe but the time is worth it if you are going to get something healthy to eat.
That little time is asked by moong dal which actually was not little but we have made it little with the easy to follow trick.
Traditionally this recipe is made by washing moong dal and then allowing it to dry completely for hours. And then thereafter it is roasted. To do the entire process, you need to have almost whole day in making the moong dal flour only.
But we have cut short the method by baking the wet dal. This way dal also gets dry and roasted at the same time in a short span of 10 minutes. Isn’t that amazing?
So let’s proceed with the recipe.
STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF MOONG DAL BISCUITS
- Wash moong dal very well and drain the water completely.
2. Spread it into a baking tray.
3. Bake @180° C for 5 minutes.
4. Pause the microwave and stir the dal.
5. Bake again for 5 minutes.
6. Take it out and let it cool down completely.
7. Grind the dal into a fine powder.
8. Also take oats and grind them into a powder.
9. Take a bowl and add butter in it.
10. Whisk it using electric beater until butter turns creamy.
11. Add sugar and whisk it again until creamy.
12. Add oats powder and mix well then add powdered dal, baking powder, baking soda.
13. Mix well into a dough using hand.
14. Now take a small piece of dough and shape it into a cookie. Likewise make cookies with the entire dough. The shape of cookies is totally your choice.
15. Arrange all on a baking tray lined with greased butter paper and place the tray in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
16. Bake in a pre-heated oven @160° C in the middle rack with both the rods on for 25-30 minutes.
17. Bring them out and let cool completely.
Moong dal cookies are ready.
NOTES
- If are able to get moong dal flour, you can use that also & no need to go into dal grinding process.
- Likewise if you are have oats flour, no need to grind oats anymore.

1 Cup= 200 ml
- 1 Cup Moong Dal/green gram dal (235 gram)
- 3/4 Cup Oats (72 grams)
- 1/2 Cup butter (100 gram)
- 1/2 Cup sugar of your choice (87 grams - we have used cane sugar)
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
Instructions
