Last Updated on June 30, 2021 by blessmyfoodbypayal
WHAT IS DOMINO’S ZINGY PARCEL?
Shaped like a parcel and taste full of zest & vigour, Dominos zingy parcel is a snack having a soft but crusty bread outside & soft gooey paneer/cheese stuffing engulfed with hot n spicy harissa mayonnaise inside.
This recipe is invented, prepared & sold by “Dominos”, a largest pizza restaurant chain in the world.
Hence it is called Domino’s Zingy Parcel or Paneer zingy parcel or veg zingy parcel.
WHAT IS HARISSA SAUCE?
Hailing from North Africa & Middle East, Harissa sauce is a vibrant red sauce that is made using dry red chillies, oil, coriander, garlic, an acid (vinegar & lemon juice), and spices.
This is extremely Spicy sauce which adds heat and smokiness to wherever added.
HOW TASTY IS THE ZINGY PARCEL?
By far, this is one of the best bread recipes we have ever tasted.
The moment we took the first bite inside the mouth, OMG, it blown away our mind with its super delicious taste.
Even after passing of many days, the taste of zingy parcel is still surviving on our tongue and mind.
Although this recipe needs some time and work to prepare, but we are never short of time and efforts to make it time and again.
Do more needs to be said about zingy parcels?
ABOUT THE PRESENT RECIPE
A long list of ingredients may give you a shockers and for a minute, you will surely think of dropping the idea of making it.
But honestly speaking, this is not a complicated recipe at all.
Very easy to make and all the ingredients are almost available in every kitchen.
Just have a visual to the list of ingredients and assess what is complex ingredient which you don’t have or can’t have or expensive to buy?
Have you noted…. there’s nothing !
This recipe has only 5 steps and all are easy to follow.
One, activating yeast, which needs efforts least.
Two, making of dough. And yes, it needs little efforts and muscle power to knead the dough for good 10 minutes. But this recipe is worth this much struggle.
Three, making of Harissa sauce and this is like doing nothing. Just add everything to blender, blitz and you are done.
Four, preparation of stuffing. Read below what you need to do and you will realize there’s nothing much to be done. Just simple assembling of ingredients.
And fifth & the last one, making of zingy parcels.
Rolling and shaping the dough, put the filling inside and baking.
That’s it. Paneer parcel dominos is ready.
Isn’t it so easy?
KIDS FRIENDLY RECIPE
You serve these parcels to any adult in your family or friends and there will be all appreciations for you.
But yes, it’s spicy for the kids.
You can see that harissa sauce is all made with dry red chillies, so that hotness is obvious.
To make this recipe kids friendly, you can replace the harissa sauce with some vegetables stuffing clubbed with tomato ketchup or pizza sauce or any other way you like.
However you made add some non veg stuffing too, depending upon your liking.
But honestly speaking, nothing can beat the taste of harissa sauce and this is highly recommended to make zingy parcels with harissa sauce and only harissa sauce.
HOW TO CONVERT ZINGY PARCEL RECIPE INTO VEGAN ONE?
This recipe uses few dairy products and you just need to make their replacement.
In the dough, the dairy product is milk powder. You can easily skip adding it.
Furthermore, in the filling, Mayonnaise can be replaced with some vegan mayo and cottage cheese/paneer with Tofu.
Next, milk and butter is used in giving a wash to parcels at the pre and post baked stages, respectively.
Milk can be replaced with some plant based milk or vegan butter and dairy butter with vegan butter.
EXPERT TIPS
- Original recipe is made using all purpose flour, which gives more better results in terms of texture.
- Also the dough proofed with yeast gives better texture to the parcels instead of dough prepared using curd/yoghurt.
- Don’t make recipe if yeast fails to activate. All your efforts will go waste.
- Dough must be kneaded for good 10 minutes.
- Never skip the harissa sauce in stuffing. This sauce will take the taste of zingy parcels to another level.
- Don’t overload the stuffing. It will ooze out while baking.

3. Add yeast, mix and keep aside for 5 to 10 minutes for activating. (See notes below).
4. In 5-10 minutes, yeast will turn frothy and bubbly and can be seen as a foamy stuff on the surface of water. If yeast has activated this way, only then proceed with the recipe ahead. Otherwise don’t make the recipe.

11. After 10 minutes, grease the bowl with oil and put dough in it.
12. Apply little oil on the dough too.
13. Put a kitchen towel on the bowl, place a lid and keep the bowl in some warm area of kitchen for proofing the dough for about 2 hours.

15. Cover the bowl and let chillies remain soaked for 15 minutes.
16. After the said period, drain water from chillies.
17. Transfer chillies in a blender.
18. Thereafter add all the ingredients mentioned under the head “FOR HARISSA SAUCE” in the list of Ingredients. i.e. coriander leaves, garlic cloves, caraway seeds, oil, lemon juice, salt and just 1 tsp of water.
19. Give it a nice blend and keep aside.
MAKING OF FILLING

24. Then add paneer cubes.
25. Again mix everything well so that paneer gets properly coated with the sauce. Keep aside.
MAKING OF ZINGY PARCELS
26. After 2 hours, uncover the dough. The dough must have doubled by now. (see notes).
27. Assemble it with light hands so that all air incorporated inside the dough must not vanish.

29. Take one portion and roll it into a smooth ball using your palms.
30. Put it on a corn meal sprinkled surface and sprinkle some corn meal on the ball too.
31. Start rolling it with the help of rolling pin.
32. Now make 3 folds from the corners, giving it a triangular shape. You can watch the video for better understanding.
33. Put some filling (4 pieces of paneer) in the middle of the triangle.
34. Apply some water on the 3 triangular ends.
35. Pick up each end, bring in the middle and pinch with each other. It should be pinched properly, otherwise it may open up while baking.
36. Likewise prepare rest of the 5 portions of dough too and put all 6 in a baking tray lines with greased butter paper or parchment paper.
37. Give them a good wash with milk. It will help in attaining golden colour while baking.
38. Bake in preheated oven for 220°C/428F in the middle rack for 20-22 minutes or until parcels attain a nice golden top. You can shift the tray from middle to top rack if you feel parcels are ready but haven’t attained the right colour. Play your wisdom depending on the performance of your oven.
39. Once done, bring the tray out of the oven.
40. While the parcels are extremely hot, brush them with melted butter.
41. Sprinkle some mix herbs all over the parcels.
Your Dominos zingy parcel veg recipe is ready. Enjoy hot or cold.
NOTES
- Active yeast needs proofing but in case you are using instant yeast, no need to activate it. To know more about yeast and its use, read here.
- You can make this recipe with the sourdough starter too.
- Whole wheat flour can be replaced with all purpose flour or both in the ratio of 50:50.
- In case you don’t have milk powder, then use milk to knead the dough instead of water.
- If you don’t have garlic powder too, then finely crush 1-2 garlic cloves and add to the flour.
- Proofing time of dough may vary depending on whether conditions. You may need less than 2 hours or may be more than 2.
- Remember, salt is added thrice. So be careful not to add much.
- Instead of soaking dry red chillies in hot water for 15 minutes, you can boil chillies in water for 4-5 minutes.
- Shahi jeera/caraway seeds can be replaced with regular jeera/cumin seeds.
- In case you don’t have corn meal, use semolina. And if you don’t have semolina too, then no option except whole wheat flour or all purpose flour (in case you are using this).
- You may add bit of mozzarella cheese while stuffing the parcels.
