Baked Besan Ladoo recipe made with just 2 tablespoons of ghee with step wise pictorial and video method.

Besan ke ladoo is such a deep rooted golden hue delicacy deep rooted in Indian culture, which is prepared with gram flour, sugar and lots of ghee.

Though sweets are favourite to all but many of the health conscious people skip it because of loads of ghee and sugar in it.

We are already having a recipe of besan ladoo in the blog, but they are typical authentic halwai style besan ladoo with good quantity of ghee and sugar, so we thought of recreating the same with less ghee and healthy sugar alternative.

Baked Besan Ladoo recipe

In the present recipe, there’s only a use of just 2 tablespoons of desi ghee and white khandsari sugar instead of regular refined sugar.

Besan is cooked by dry roasting and then baking instead of roasting in loads of ghee and white khandsari sugar. This sugar is a kind of raw white sugar and made from thickened cane syrup.

Rest all the ingredients of this recipe are very basic and regular. Besides gram flour, desi ghee and sugar, it has only cardamom, food colour and melon seeds.

Food colour is optional and if you don’t want to add this, feel free to skip.

Also in place of melon seeds or in addition to melon seeds, you can go for other nuts of your choice.

So let’s begin the recipe.

 

 

Baked Besan Ladoo recipe

STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF BAKED BESAN LADOO RECIPE

 

Take a pan and dry roast besan till it’s slightly brown and it’s raw aroma is gone.

Add 1 tbsp desi ghee and mix well.

Remove pan from the heat and slowly start adding very little water.

Keep mixing until besan comes together.

Spread it on a greased baking tin.

Bake in preheated oven @190°C for 30 minutes or until crisp.

Remove from the oven and let cool down completely.

Grind to a coarse powder.

For chasni, add water, sugar, food colour and cardamom powder in a pan.

Boil till sugar melts.

Add powdered besan, melon seeds and  1 tbsp of ghee.

Mix well.

Cook on low heat until mixture comes together like a mass.

Off the heat and let it cool until touchable.

Grease your hands with desi ghee and bind the mixture into ladoo one by one.

Ingredients
  

1 cup = 250 ml

  • 1 cup besan
  • 1 tbsp desi ghee
  • water as required

FOR CHASHNI

  • 1/2 cup sugar (we used white khandsari sugar)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp desi ghee
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • Pinch of saffron food colour
  • 1 tbsp melon seeds

Instructions
