Roasted Tomato Salsa Recipe with step wise pictorial and video method.

Vegan & Gluten free

Tomato Salsa is a flavorful dip made with tomatoes, onion, chili, garlic and other spices.

But as the present one is roasted tomato salsa, so in this recipe all the ingredients are added after roasting, either in oven or directly on fire.

We have opted for the roasted one because the charring process enhances the natural sweetness of tomatoes while adding a deep, rustic essence.

Besides other ingredients in this recipe, having chilies and lime together offers a perfect balance of heat, tang and earthiness.

As far as the texture of salsa is concerned, it is purely based on personal choice. Some like it chunky, some love it smooth.

Tomato salsa pairs beautifully with nachos, tacos, burritos, or even as a topping for grilled dishes. It is something which brings vibrant flavors to any meal. Ideal for parties or snacking, this homemade salsa is fresher and more aromatic than store-bought versions, making it a must-try for salsa lovers.

STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF ROASTED TOMATO SALSA RECIPE

Cut tomatoes into halves. We have taken 8 tomatoes because we were having the small one. If you have the medium or small one, take the quantity accordingly.

Arrange them on baking tray.

Cut the stem part of red hot chilli peppers and green chilies and place on tray.

Also place diced onion and garlic cloves with peels.

Drizzle oil all over them.

Bake in a preheated oven @220°C for 30 minutes.

Take the tray out of the oven and let it cool down a bit so that you can handle it with bare hands.

Remove the skin of tomatoes, chilies and peel garlic. You can remove the seeds of chilies as well to reduce the heat.

Put all in a chopper and also add add coriander leaves.

Chop chunky or smooth, choice is yours. We kelp it chunky . In case you don’t have chopper, you can blend them in grinder (on pulse mode for chunky , on normal mode for smooth) but for that, the mixture should be completely cool.

Once done, take it out in a bowl.

Add salt, black pepper powder and lemon juice. Mix.

Enjoy with tortilla chips.

NOTES

We have made this salsa too spicy. You can balance the spiciness as per your choice by reducing the amount of red hot chillies or green chillies and also by removing the seeds of Red Hot chilies as they play a vital role in bringing the spiciness to the chilies.
