WHAT IS MOJITO
A traditional Cuban highball, mojito is a cocktail that consists of five ingredients: white rum, sugar, mint, lime juice and soda water.
Mojito is one of the most popular drink or better call it a party drink.
IS MOJITO ALCOHOLIC ?
Rum is one of the prime ingredient of mojito which makes it alcoholic.
But it doesn’t mean people who are teetotaler don’t have a right to cherish this amazing drink. There is a solution for them too.
VIRGIN MOJITO
Mojito is widely served without rum too and that is called Virgin mojito. You just need to skip rum & perfect refreshing beverage with rest of the ingredients is ready.
So, the line of difference between Mojito & Virgin Mojito is “rum”.
A HEALTHY DRINK
Mint mojito is not just a refreshing drink but the healthy one too, at the same time.
Combination of mint and lemon juice gives you healthy digestion & works as anti oxidants also.
Lime juice is an excellent source of Vitamin C and hence serves as great immunity boosters.
Step wise pictorial recipe of virgin mint mojito
- Cut the lemon into wedges and remove their seeds.
- Put the wedges in a serving glass.
- Add mint leaves and powdered sugar.
- Muddle with a muddler to extract juices from lemon and flavours from mint.
- Add crushed ice.
- Finally fill the glass with soda water till the top.
Serve chilled after garnishing with mint leaves and round lemon wedge.
NOTES
Instead of soda water, you can use 7up or sprite. But in that case, don’t add additional sugar.

- 6-7 mint leaves fresh
- 1 Lemon
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar or as per taste
- Handful of crushed ice
- Soda water as needed
