Green Moong Dal is almost made in every house, especially in the lunch with rice. And in our house, it is made every week.
This recipe of Green Moong Dal chilla came into existence due to certain reason. Actually we soaked Green Moong Dal for preparing Dal but due to some reasons, the plan of having the lunch at home was cancelled today. But as the Dal was already soaked, so decided to made these delicious and easy Green Moong Dal chillas. This is such a lovely, yummy and healthy recipe to try for sure.
It is indeed a great breakfast recipe and also best way to feed protein rich dal to the kids.

STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF GREEN MOONG DAL CHILLA RECIPE
Take green moong dal. Wash and soak overnight.In the morning, drain all water and put the dal in grinder jar.
Wash poha and put poha as well in the grinder jar.
Now add ginger and green chilies.
Grind to a fine paste. Add little water if needed.
Take the paste out in some bowl and add finely chopped onion, black pepper powder, cumin seeds, garam masala, salt and coriander leaves.
Mix well. Rest for 5 minutes.
Brush some oil on a non stick tawa. Drop 3-4 tbsp of batter on tawa.
Spread it with the help of a spoon. It should neither be too thick nor too thin.
Cook from both sides on low heat until cooked. If you will cook it on high heat, it will turn immediately brown from outside but remain raw from inside.
Make the entire batch likewise and enjoy with green chutney or tomato sauce or any dip of your choice.
NOTES
No hard and fast rule with respect to soaking time. if you don’t have much time, then soak it for just one hour in hot water and if you have ample of time or planning to prepare Green Moong Dal chilla in the breakfast, then you can soak it overnight.
This is the simplest recipe of Green Moong Dal Chilla using very less and basic ingredients. You can add tomatoes, coriander, vegetables of your choice, if you like.

- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves
- Oil as needed
- Water as required
