It has no desi ghee and no condensed milk, which are undoubtedly the expensive ingredients.
So with just 3 ingredients and that too very basic, simple and cheap, you can have these delicious and mouthwatering sweet nariyal ke laddu ki recipe.
We have shared the recipe of coconut Barfi also which is made almost in similar manner. However you can have the details by clicking here.
INGREDIENTS USED
COCONUT : We have used desiccated coconut in this nariyal ke laddu recipe. You can use fresh coconut also. But fresh coconut has brown part which will not look pleasant in this white beauties.
So better to scrape the brown part before grating or shredding the coconut. Once you have remove the dark skin and grated the coconut, rest of the process will remain the same and you will have fresh coconut ladoo.
SUGAR : Granulated sugar goes well in this recipe. However some make these ladoos using condensed milk or brown sugar or jaggery.
But note that use of brown sugar or jaggery will turn the colour of coconut deep dark.
MILK : Milk adds the moisture to the recipe which also helps in binding ladoos. We have added full fat milk to bring that absolutely creaminess into the ladoos. You can also use skimmed milk. Even some people use water instead of milk.
CARDAMOM POWDER : You may skip this fragrant ingredient but this do adds flavour to these mouth melting ladoos.
HOW TO FIX DESICCATED COCONUT LADOO?
There are two adverse possibilities with the mixture of these ladoos. Either the mixture may remain soggy due to under-cooking or may turn dry because of over roasting.
In case of sogginess, you will be ale to bind ladoos but they will not be hardened like a ladoo but more like a fudge.
On the contrary, if the mixture becomes over cooked, you will not be able to bind it into ladoo because of paucity of moisture.
Now we will take up the each issue one by one.
If soggy because of under-cooking, you should simply cook the mixture for some more time.
Also sharing a secret tip that we too try at times. If you have already bind all the mixture into ladoos and later realized that they are too soggy but don’t wanna break for more cooking, simply microwave them for a shorter time in one go.
This is important to mention that if you will microwave them for a longer time, they may burn and become dark and bitter. So be very alert and careful while microwaving them.
Now let’s take up the second issue.
If mixture is crumbly and hence not binding, add little milk as cook. As simple as that.
