No Cook Coconut Modak Recipe

No Cook Coconut Modak Recipe is a quick, fuss-free festive delight, made without cooking and perfect for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

Ingredients
  

1 cup = 250 ml

  • 1 cup dessicated coconut
  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup mixed nuts (almonds, cashews & pistachios)
  • Chilled milk as required
  • Saffron strands for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Take a bowl and add dessicated coconut, milk powder, powdered sugar, cardamom powder and nuts.
  • Give them a good mix.
  • Now start adding chilled milk, little at a time, and start mixing with hand.
  • Make a dough of slightly tight consistency.
  • Stuff the mixture in a greased modak mould.
  • Nariyal modak are ready.
  • Garnish with saffron strands and celebrate.

Notes

  1. Instead of powdered sugar, you can use bura sugar or shakkar.
  2. You have to be extra extra careful while adding the milk. In case extra milk will be added accidentally, recipe may spoil, which can only be adjusted by adding more dessicated coconut. But in such a case, the balance of ingredients will get spoiled. So add the milk spoon by spoon.
