Peel, wash and cut the onion length wise.
Add salt and mix well, preferably using hand, so that salt gets coated everywhere and onion petals get separated.
Rest for 10 minutes so that onions release their water.
Then add gram flour, rice flour, carom seeds, ginger, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, dry mango powder, garam masala, coriander leaves, asafoetida and oil.
Give them a good mix, preferably using your hand, so that everything comes together.
Add a bit of water, if you find the mixture bit dry. But add very little water at a time.
Mix it again.
Now wet your finger tips and keep dropping the small portions in the greased air fryer basket, preferably lined with greased butter paper or silicon mat.
Air fry @180°C for 6 minutes.
Turn the side of all the Pakodas using a tong.
Air fry again @180°C for 6 minutes from other side as well.
Pyaz ke Pakode are ready. Sprinkle bit of chaat masala before serving. Enjoy hot with a dip of your choice. Usually it is green chutney or tomato ketchup.
