Easiest eggless chocolate sponge cake recipe made with very basic ingredients and easy process.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup all purpose flour/ maida
  • 1 cup curd/yoghurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp chocolate essence or vanilla essence
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

Instructions
 

  • Switch on the oven for preheating @180°C for 10 minutes.
  • Grease a baking tin and line it with greased butter paper. Or prepare the baking tin by whatever way you do normally for baking.
  • Take a bowl and all the ingredients.
  • Mix without leaving lumps.
  • Transfer the batter into a baking tin.
  • Tap to release the air bubbles, if any.
  • Put in the middle rack of the preheated oven with both the rods on and bake @180°C for 35 - 40 minutes.
  • Insert a toothpick in the cake and if it comes out clean, cake is properly baked.
  • Let it cool down and then demould.
  • Your cake is ready.

Notes

1. Curd and milk must be at room temperature.
2. Cocoa powder can be replaced with drinking chocolate.
3. Additionally you can add chocolate chips or any nuts of your choice.
