Remove the seeds from the dates and roughly chop them.
Add milk in dates.
Cover the bowl and keep aside for 3 to 4 hours.
After the said time, transfer the dates milk into a blender.
Blend them to a smooth puree.
Transfer the puree to a bowl.
Add oil and vanilla essence.
Whisk them very well.
Place a sieve over the bowl.
Add 1 cup of flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Sift them to the bowl.
Coat walnuts with a tsp of flour.
Add walnuts to the bowl.
Mix well using cut and fold method.
Transfer the batter into a greased pan.
Bake in preheated oven @170°C for 35 to 40 minutes in the middle rack of the oven with both the rods on.
Take the cake out and insert a toothpick in it. If toothpick comes out clean, cake is perfectly baked.
Let cake cool down completely before demoulding.
