Poha/flattened rice is one of the most famous breakfast recipe from Maharashtra. You can have this delicious breakfast in just 4 minutes of microwaving.

Equipment

  • Microwave
  • Microwave safe mug
  • Microwave safe lid

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup poha/flattened rice
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsp peanuts
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp capsicum (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp carrots (finely chopped)
  • 1 green chilli (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Few drops of water for sprinkling
  • Water for washing poha

Instructions
 

  • Take poha in a sieve and wash it 2-3 times. Let it remain wet (not soaked) for 15 minutes.
  • In a microwave safe mug, add oil, mustard seeds, peanuts and curry leaves. Mix
  • Microwave (high power 900) for 1 minute.
  • Add carrots, capsicum, onion, green chilli, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala. Mix.
  • Microwave (900) for 2 minutes.
  • Add poha, salt and mix well.
  • Sprinkle some water.
  • Put a lid on mug and microwave (900) for 1 minute.
  • Mug Poha is ready. Enjoy
