In a bowl, add semolina, powdered sugar, curd and oil.
Mix them well.
Cover the bowl and rest for 10 minutes.
Place a sieve over the bowl and add whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Sift them to the bowl.
Add chocolate essence.
Start mixing everything by adding milk.
Now grease the cavities of appe pan with oil.
Pour the batter in all cavities till they are 3/4 filled.
Cover the lid and let them cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
Mini cakes will begin to bubble and turn fluffy.
Now it's a time to turn their side but deal very gently because the mini cakes are very delicate at this stage.
Cook from the other side too on low flame for 5 minutes with lid on.
Once they are properly cooked, remove them from the appe holes and pour the batter for next batch after greasing the cavities.
Mini cakes are ready.

1. If you don't have appe pan, bake the cake in oven @180℃ for 30-35 minutes or until done.2. In the absence of chocolate essence, add vanilla essence or skip it, if don't have both.3. While making cake in appe pan, keep an eye on them because the middle 3 cooks early than the rest in the surroundings due to direct heat to them on gas stove. Turn those who are done from one side and give more time to those who are yet to be.
