Kacche Kele Ki Sabzi

Kacche Kele Ki Sabzi is a simple, tasty dry curry made with raw bananas, spices, and minimal ingredients for everyday meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 raw bananas
  • 2 tbsp peanuts
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 onion
  • 3 dry red chilies
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • Red chilli powder to taste
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Oil as needed
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves

Instructions
 

  • Cut the edges of bananas.
  • Peel them.
  • Cut into medium size pieces.
  • Apply bit of salt and 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder to the banana pieces. Keep aside.
  • Add peanuts in a pan and dry roast them on low heat until slightly brown. Take them out.
  • Take a reasonable quantity of oil in the same pan and when oil is hot, add banana pieces.
  • Fry till bananas turn brown from both sides.
  • Take them out.
  • Remove excess oil from the pan leaving behind 1 tbsp.
  • Add cumin seeds, bay leaves, ginger garlic paste, onion, tomatoes, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Put a lid and let the tomatoes cook.
  • Do stir at intervals.
  • In 10 to 12 minutes, oil will be seen separating the tomatoes which is a sign that is are properly cooked.
  • Add fried banana pieces. Mix.
  • Add water, mix and put a lid. Let it cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove the lid and add garam masala, coriander leaves and roasted peanuts after coarsely crushing them.
  • Serve hot.
