Gond ki Raab recipe

gond ki Raab is a traditional gujrati drink mainly made using gond/edible, ghee, flour, sweetener and water.

1 cup = 250 ml
- 1.5 tbsp gond/edible gum
- 1 tbsp desi ghee
- 2 tbsp whole wheat flour
- 1.5 cup/375 ml water
- 3 tbsp Jaggery/gud
- 1/4 tsp dry ginger powder/sonth
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- Pinch of cinnamon powder
- 2 tbsp desiccated or grated coconut
- 2 tbsp almond slivers
- Few strands of saffron
Take a pan and add desi ghee in it.
Add gond and roast it on low heat until it turns slightly puffed up and translucent.
Take the gond out of the pan.
Add flour in the remaining ghee and roast on low heat until slightly brown.
Add water gradually by stirring throughout otherwise lumps may be formed.
When flour is thoroughly mixed with water, add gond and let simmer so that gond begins to dissolve.
Also add jaggery, dry ginger powder and cinnamon powder. Mix
Let gond and jaggery completely dissolve.
Add cardamom powder, almonds, saffron and coconut. Mix well.
Give a slight boil for a minute.
Gond ki Raab is ready.
Serve hot.
