Take a non stick pan and add desi ghee, milk, sugar and milk powder. Keep the flame low.
Start stirring and break the formation of lumps.
Immediately mixture will turn wet.
Add cardamom powder.
Keep stirring.
Mixture will be seen turning thick. Keep stirring.
In 5-6 minutes, mixture will turn sticky and turn into a dough.
Immediately transfer the mixture into a greased dish lined with greased butter paper.
Smoothen the surface of the mixture.
Tuck chopped nuts over the top. We have used almonds and pistachios.
Let the mixture cool down completely. It may take 1 to 2 hours depending on the whether.
Cut into slices and enjoy the barfi.
