Put them in boiling water.
Put a lid and boil for 15-20 minutes. They will turn slightly soft.
Take them out of water and leave to cool down.
MAKING OF SPICE MIX
While our corn on the cobs are getting cool, let make a slice mix for which take a small bowl.
Add oil, Kashmiri red chilli powder, black pepper powder, roasted cumin powder, salt, chaat masala and lemon juice.
Mix well.
ROASTING OF CORN RIBS
Once corn on the cobs turn cool, cut each of them vertically into 4 pieces.
Arrange them in Air Fryer basket. If you don't have Air Fryer, look for the alternative ways to make corn ribs in Notes below.
Apply the spice mix on all the corn ribs.
Air fry @190° C for 15 minutes or until they get charred.
- Kashmiri red chili powder can be substituted with sweet paprika for colour and cayenne for heat. Likewise Chaat masala can be replaced with Tajin seasoning.
- Don't think boiling & air frying makes the cob part edible. That needs to be discarded after eating the corns out of them.
- If you don't have Air Fryer, follow the similar process in oven and bake at the similar temperature for atleast 20-25 minutes or until charred.
- If you don't have an oven too, follow the given steps :
- Boil and cut the corn on the cobs into ribs.
- Deep fry them.
- Mix a spice mix using all given ingredients minus oil.
- Once corn ribs are fried, sprinkle the spice mix on them. Simple.
