Coconut chutney with desiccated coconut

Coconut chutney is a staple food from South India and a must condiment with dosa and idli.

1 cup = 250 ml
FOR PASTE
- 1/4 cup dessicated coconut (25 gram)
- 1/4 cup raw peanuts (45 grams)
- 2 green chilies
- Small piece of tamarind
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup water
FOR TEMPERING
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tbsp mustard seeds
- 8-10 curry leaves
- 1 dry red chilli
Roast peanuts on low heat and let cool completely.
Add peanuts, coconut, green chilies, tamarind, salt and water.
Grind to a smooth paste.
Take the paste out in a bowl.
Add oil in tadka pan and add mustard, curry leaves and chilli. Mix.
Pour on the paste and mix.
Coconut chutney with dessicated coconut is ready.
