Cuisine Indian
- 3/4 cup Leftover Chashni/sugar syrup
- 1/4 cup Tamarind Pulp
- 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Roasted Cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp Black salt
- 1/2 tsp Dry ginger powder
Take a pan and add leftover chashni/sugar syrup. Our chashni is orange in color because it has saffron in it. If your chashni is white, its alright.
Add Tamarind pulp, salt, black salt, red chilli powder, dry ginger powder and roasted cumin powder. Mix well.
Boil the mixture for 8-10 minutes.
To check whether it has turned sticky or not, just coat a spoon in it and draw a line at the back side of the spoon with your finger. If the line clearly draws, it means syrup is sufficiently sticky.
Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool down completely.
Your chutney is ready to be used.
- If you feel your chashni is not clear and having too much residue of the sweet, of which the chashni belongs, just sive the syrup.
- The quantity of all the ingredients may vary depending upon how much sugar syrup you are having.
- This chutney can be stored in clean air tight jar in refrigerator for upto 2 weeks.
