Carrots and peas sabzi

Carrots and peas sabzi is a delicious combo of indian dry curry made with gajar and matar.

Ingredients
  

  • 250 gram Green peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 250 gram carrots (washed (peeled & cut into small pieces)
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp ginger (crushed)
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil of your choice (we used mustard oil)
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Add oil in a pan. As we are using mustard oil, it needs to be smoked first.
  • As the oil must be very hot, switch off the heat and let oil cool down a bit.
  • Add cumin and let it splitter on low heat.
  • Then add ginger and let it turn slightly brown.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder. Mix.
  • Add green peas, carrots and salt. Mix.
  • Then add water and put the lid on.
  • Let it cook on low to medium heat while stirring at intervals.
  • When the peas and carrots turn soft enough to eat, add garam masala and mix.
  • Gajar matar ki sabji is ready. Enjoy.
