Servings 4 Rings

Ingredients

  • 1 capsicum/bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup gram flour/besan
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves
  • Water as required
  • Oil as required

Instructions

  • Take a bowl and add besan, ginger garlic paste, onion, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, garam masala and coriander leaves. Mix.
  • Add water, but very little at a time and keep mixing.
  • Make a batter of thick consistency. Too much watery batter will not hold its shape. Keep aside.
  • Cut the capsicum into thin rings.
  • Remove the inner part.
  • Drizzle some oil in a non stick pan.
  • Place the capsicum rings.
  • Pour some batter in the middle of the rings. Make sure not to put too much batter. It will cause the batter to flow out of the rings and also besan will remain raw.
  • Put a lid and let cook on lowest heat. Make sure heat is to the lowest otherwise besan will turn brown immediately from outside but remain raw within.
  • Once it is cooked from one side, flip the rings.
  • Cook from other side as well likewise.
  • Besan stuffed capsicum rings are ready. Enjoy it as a side dish with dal chawal or as a snack with tomato ketchup or green chilli sauce or any dip of your choice
