Bathua Ka Paratha Recipe is a nutritious winter flatbread made with fresh bathua leaves, whole wheat flour, and aromatic spices, perfect for comfort meals.

Ingredients
  

1 cup = 250 ml

  • 250 gram Bathua
  • 4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3-4 green chilies (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp ginger (grated)
  • 1/4 cup onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp anardana
  • 1 tsp carom seeds
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • desi ghee or oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Pluck the leaves of bathua and wash them so well.
  • Add 1 cup of boiling hot water in bathua leaves so that the leaves soft a bit. Cover and keep aside.
  • Take whole wheat flour and add green chilies, ginger, onion, anardana, carom seeds, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt.
  • Mix them well.
  • Add bathua and mix well.
  • First add that water in which bathua was soaked and start kneading the dough. As that water wasn't enough so you can use extra water as well.
  • Knead a normal dough and rest it for 10-15 minutes.
  • Now a portion of dough and roll it with rolling pin. Dust flour wherever needed.
  • Cook it on tawa by applying desi ghee or oil.
  • Bathua ka paratha is ready. Enjoy with dahi or hot cup of tea.

Notes

Prefer not to add kasuri methi or coriander leaves in the dough because bathua has its own unique taste and flavour, which may get dominated by kasuri methi or coriander leaves.
