Air Fryer Potato Coins | Crispy Potato Snack Recipe

Air Fryer Potato Coins are crispy outside, tender inside, and made with minimal oil for a simple, delicious snack everyone enjoys anytime.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 gram potatoes boiled & peeled
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp mix herbs
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 5-6 tbsp rice flour or cornstarch

Instructions
 

  • Take boiled and peeled potatoes in a wide plate or bowl.
  • Mash them so well. There remains no chunks left.
  • Add red chilli flakes, black pepper powder, oregano, mix herbs, salt and oil. Don't add oil in case making this recipe by deep frying.
  • Mix everything so well.
  • Now start adding rice flour, spoon by spoon, and keep mixing.
  • Make a smooth dough.
  • Take a plastic or polythene sheet and grease it.
  • Place the potato dough on it. If the sheet is small, then put half of the dough.
  • Place one more greased sheet on potato dough.
  • Firstly press the dough with your hand.
  • Then roll it using rolling pin. Don't roll it too thin.
  • Remove the upper sheet and cut the dough into coins with round cutter or with a lid of some bottle. However you can shape in any way you like, even in french fries one.
  • Now pick up the coins.
  • Then reassemble the leftover dough, shape it again and cut into coins again.
  • Arrange the coins at a minute distance from one another, in greased air fryer basket.
  • Air fry 200°C for 12 minutes or until brown. Alternatively you can deep fry or bake them as well.
  • Enjoy with the dip of your choice.

Notes

  1. The quantity of rice flour is not certain. Add as much as needed to make a smooth dough.
  2. Instead of mentioned spices, you can add basic indian spices as well, like red chili powder, garam masala, coriander powder alongwith coriander leaves.
  3. If deep frying, fry in batches. Do lot overcrowd the pan in one go.
  4. You mandatorily need the plastic or polythene sheets to roll the dough. Don't think it can be rolled without them.
  5. You can partly fry these potato Coins ahead of time and then completely fry them to golden at the time of serving. Also, you can just shape the potato dough into coins and place in refrigerator by putting into air tight container. Then fry only at the time of serving.
