Pineapple Raita is a mild tangy and sweet yogurt recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Curd
  • 1/2 cup Pineapple cut into cubes
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder roasted
  • 1.5 tbsp Sugar
  • Black salt as required
  • 2 tbsp Pomegranate arils (optional) for garnishing

Instructions
 

  • Whip the curd till it becomes smooth.
  • Add cumin seeds, sugar and salt to the curd. mix well.
  • Add the chopped pineapple and mix well.
  • Garnish with pomegranate.
  • serve chilled.

Notes

  1. Make sure the curd should not be sour otherwise it will destroy the taste of pineapple raita.
  2. This is a common complaint that raita gets sour, even though curd is not sour. It happens because of the presence of pineapple in curd. pineapple has a tangy taste by nature and hence it changes the nature of curd too. To come across this situation, it is suggested to add pineapple immediately before serving.
