besan ka halwa is a yummy dessert made with gram flour and the present one is made using leftover desi ghee residue.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup besan / chickpea flour / gram flour
  • 1/4 cup desi ghee
  • 1 cup desi ghee residue
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6-7 cardamoms

Instructions
 

  • add sugar and cardamoms in a blender & blend them into powder. Keep aside.
  • add desi ghee in a pan on low flame.
  • add gram flour & mix well.
  • roast the gram flour while stirring constantly for about 10 - 12 minutes until it releases nice aroma.
  • switch off the flame & add desi ghee residue in it. mix well.
  • add powdered sugar and mix properly.
  • besan ka halwa made with desi ghee residue is ready. Serve hot after garnishing with dry fruits of your choice. you can mix some of the nuts while preparing too.

Notes

  1. as already stated, if making it without leftover desi ghee residue, then add milk in a quantity which brings your desired consistency.
  2. sugar is added after grinding because the granulated sugar doesn't melt properly in halwa
