Vegan Korean Strawberry Milk recipe

Sweetened chunks of strawberries cooked to mushy texture and then added to milk of your choice makes a most popular drink Korean Strawberry milk.

Ingredients
  

  • 250 gram Strawberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Milk of your choice (we used coconut milk)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • Ice cubes

Instructions
 

  • Wash the strawberries very well. We usually wash it with water, vinegar and baking soda and thereafter rinse them through running water.
  • Roughly chop them.
  • Put in a non stick pan.
  • Add sugar.
  • Cook on low heat while stirring continuously & mashing a bit.
  • Cook until it turns thick, slightly like a jam.
  • Remove from the heat and mix vanilla essence.
  • Let it cool down completely. It is our strawberry compote.
  • For serving, put some compote in a serving glass. Better to spread some compote on the inner walls of the glass to give more aesthetic look.
  • Pour the chilled milk of your choice (we used coconut milk) till the top of glass.
  • Add ice cubes, if you want it to be more chilled.
  • Enjoy.

Notes

If you like, you can add some chopped strawberries to the milk while serving.
