Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/8 tsp asafoetida glutenfree
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 3/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 500 grams/ 1.1 Lb Green beans cut into pieces
  • 3 potatoes cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Take oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Saute.
  • Add beans and potatoes.
  • Now add salt, coriander powder and garam masala. Mix.
  • Pour water and cover the pan with a lid.
  • Let it cook on low heat. Keep stirring at intervals until green beans and potatoes turn soft and tender enough to eat.

Notes

  1. While adding dry spices, make sure oil shouldn't be very hot.
  2. If you feel beans and potatoes sticking to the base of pan but hasn't turned soft, add more water.
  3. We love to make it simple without adding onion and tomatoes. However few cook it by adding both the said ingredients too. So if you love to, just add and saute both onion and tomatoes before adding beans and potatoes.
