Veg Manchow Soup | Vegetable Manchow Soup recipe with step wise pictorial and video method.

A cold wet evening accompanied by a hot bowl of Veg Manchow Soup gives a feel of immense warmth in the winter months. This is one of the popular soup in Indian Chinese cuisine being so easy to prepare and hot spicy taste.

It is a yummy soup having deep brown colour prepared with various vegetables & scallions, thickened with stock and corn flour, flavored with soy sauce, salt, garlic and chili peppers. You can garnish this soup with chopped spring onions, and served with crispy dry noodles.

 

 

Veg Mancho Soup

Step Wise pictorial recipe of veg manchow soup

1. Take oil in a pan and add 1 tsp ginger, 1 tsp garlic and 2 green chillies.

2. Saute till ginger garlic turns brown.

3. And 1 onion and mix.

4. Char 1 dry red chilli on gas stove.

 

5. Add this charred chili to the pan.

6. Cook onion till it turns pink and translucent. 

7. Add 1/4 cup carrots, 1/4 cup mushrooms, 1/4 cup cabbage, 1/4 cup green beans and 1/4 cup spring onion greens.

8. saute on high heat for 2-3 minutes. Make sure veggies shouldn’t loose their crunch.

9. Add 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp black pepper powder, 1 tsp sugar and salt to taste.

10. Cook for a minute.

11. Add 3 cups of water. 

12. Also add 1 stem of coriander.

13. Mix 2 tbsp of corn flour with 2 tbsp of water.

 14. Add this corn flour mixture to pan.

15. Add 1 tsp vinegar.

16. Boil for 2 minutes.

17. Remove the coriander stem and charred dry red chilli.

18. Add coriander leaves. 

Veg Mancho Soup is ready. Serve hot after garnish with fried noodles.

NOTES

Be careful while adding salt because in this recipe we are also using soya sauce, which already carries salt in it.

Veg Manchow Soup

Veg Manchow Soup is a lipsmacking soup made with vegetables and other chinese spices.

  • 1/4 cup Cabbage ((shredded))
  • 1/4 cup French beans ((chopped))
  • 1/4 cup Mushrooms ((chopped))
  • 1/4 cup Carrots ((chopped))
  • 1/4 cup Spring onion ((chopped))
  • 1 tsp Ginger ((chopped))
  • 1 tsp Garlic ((chopped))
  • 2  Green chillies ((chopped))
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 3 cup Vegetable stock or water ((plus 2 tbsp))
  • 2 tbsp Cornflour ((Called Corn starch outside India))
  • 1-2 tsp Coriander leaves or onion green for garnish ((chopped))
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil or any other oil
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/2 cup Noodles ((Boiled and then fried))
