Peel garlic pods and keep aside.
Peel ginger and wash it. Put on a clean kitchen towel and pat dry.
Add both ginger and garlic in a clean blender. Better if you cut ginger roots to a reasonable size. It will help the blender to pulse smoothly.
Give a nice blend in first go & then add 2 tbsp of oil (half of the given) & blend again.
Open the lid of blender jar and then add the rest of the oil, i.e. another 2 tbsps, too.
Pulse again and keep on going unless you get a smooth creamy texture. Check at intervals and also scratch the sides of the jar inside & put in the center so that everything gets blended uniformly.
When you see that the mixture has attained the desired texture, add turmeric and blend one more time.
Your ginger garlic paste is ready.
